Development of Character
At Thorntree Academy, we are dedicated to building children’s character so that they become a successful member of society. EEF Research defines a learning behaviour as a behaviour that is necessary in order for a person to learn effectively in the group setting of the classroom (Ellis and Todd, 2018)

The Local Area:
At Thorntree Academy, we take pride in working in collaboration with the local communities. Our children, through music, are given the opportunity to perform to live audiences in local residential homes, at Teesside Airport and at the Arc in Stockton on Tees. Sporting events across the town ensuring that our children are exposed to cross school collaboration and this aids our Y6 children in their transition to secondary school. Our Power of Women ambassadors work closely with local businesses including PD Ports and Steel Benders, to further their understanding of employment opportunities in the local area. In addition to this, our curriculum provides opportunities to visit local places so children can fully understand life in their area.
Parental involvement is important to us at Thorntree Academy and our popular family walking days give lots of opportunities for parents and children to visit an area in the local community and enjoy some time together.
