Inclusion

We are an Inclusion Quality Mark Flagship school. At Thorntree Academy, we pride ourselves on being inclusive and being able to support all of the children within our community. Our tiered approach to inclusion enables our children to achieve well. Below are some quotes from our most recent IQM report.

Quotes from Report:

'A strong sense of community exists at Thorntree Academy. Parents value the work that leaders and staff do. They said that the school makes sure pupils receive the right level of support that they need to do well. This is a school where adults know their children and families well. All staff are focused on ensuring that every pupil is safe. There are robust systems in place, and leaders take swift action if concerns are raised. Leaders work closely with relevant external agencies to help pupils get the right support.'

'Parents are overwhelmingly positive about the school and comment how the staff go, ‘above and beyond.’ Pupils enjoy an extensive range of after-school clubs and activities. There is excellent provision for pupils’ personal, spiritual, social, moral and cultural development, so they are well prepared for the next stage in their education and for life in modern Britain.'

'Pupils are positive about their learning. Children in the Early Years are eager to learn. Pupils from across the school play well with one another. As a result, the atmosphere both in and out of classrooms is calm and orderly. Pupils’ behaviour is impeccable. They are proud of their work, and leaders take every opportunity to celebrate their efforts and achievements.'

'The school is an extremely happy, safe and positive place to learn. Staff receive effective training to teach well. Staff morale is high and staff value the way everyone works as a team. Staff feel well supported by a caring leadership team. They can go to leaders with problems because they know that they will be listened to without fear of judgement. There is a highly positive culture among staff. They are proud to be part of the school community.'
